Distribution of Winter Packages- Daama’an Pukhto and Shakr Pura Villages, District Charsadda
Dated: February' 27 2011
Due to ongoing rainfalls and a sharp drop in temperature, our activity this time was aimed at providing winter packages to the flood affected people of Daama’an Pukhto and Shakr Pura Villages, District Charsadda. This was a joint activity carried out by Social Welfare Society- PMC in collaboration with Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan, and through funding provided by RAHEEMS (Rural Areas Health and Education Enhancement by Michigan Students is a MSU based non-profit student organization dedicated to providing philanthropic and charitable services in the rural areas of Pakistan). A total of 75 families (50 in Daama’an Pukhto and 25 in Shakr Pura) were provided with Winter Packages, which consisted of soft mattresses, pillows, sweaters and socks, particularly for children.
We reached Daama’n Pukhto at 12.30 pm where we met Mr. Qaiser, our local supervisor, who facilitated us in the distribution process. The enlisted families were gathered and distribution process explained to them by SWS, which was followed by distribution of winter packages. We then reached Shakr Pura where Mr. Faseeh, our local supervisor had gathered the enlisted families. The affected families were then provided with winter packages.
